LPC-Associate Supervision
Support, Growth, and Sustainability in the Field
When I was a supervisee, I remember feeling like I had a lot of concrete knowledge, but applying it in the therapy room felt overwhelming. I wasn’t always sure what to consider in each choice or how my own personal history influenced my therapeutic decisions. Over time, I learned that this uncertainty is a natural and integral part of developing as a therapist. Growth happens in the space between not knowing and knowing. Knowing everything is not the final destination. We can, however, develop the sense that we are okay with the “not knowing” parts while also growing confidence in knowing things over time.
Supervision is a crucial part of this process—offering guidance, support, and space for exploration. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. I am honored to walk this path with you as you build confidence, clarity, and a strong professional identity.
As I continue to evolve as a therapist, I realize how many messages we receive about what therapy "should" be, what a therapist "should" do, and how we are "supposed" to show up in the room. While often well-intentioned, these messages can contribute to cycles of burnout, slowly snuffing out the passion that led us to this work in the first place. It is with this realization, my love for teaching and learning, and sharing resources that have led me to offer supervision.
My hope is to support you in:
Your evolution as a therapist
Decreasing the risk of burnout and cultivating a clinically and financially sustainable career
Discovering how you feel fulfilled in this field
Honing your craft
Background & Training
I bring a blend of clinical training, real-world experience, and ongoing consultation to my supervision work. Some highlights of my background:
STAIR Method Level 1 trained – Experiential parts work trained, this method helps learning a power-with stance with clients, helps you build a connection to self and client while you are in the therapy room, and helps therapists ground their theories and models of practice in a neurobiologically based and experiential integrative approach
Ongoing consultation & training with Juliane Taylor Shore – 3+ years in a consult group, with over a decade of learning from her work
IPNB-Informed – Deeply influenced by Dan Siegel, Bonnie Badenoch, and other leaders in interpersonal neurobiology; Former President of Austin IN Connection
Family Systems background
Diverse work experience – Government agencies, non-profits, private companies, group private practices, and personal private practice
Little Fun Tidbits
I’ve lived in Austin, TX for 14 years. I live with my husband, two cats, and collie-sheperd. I enjoy baking (huge chocolate fan), checking out the latest restaurant, reading fictional books, keeping up with the latest tv shows, and any water activity in the sunshine. Recently, I’ve nurtured a little plant window and learning how to be a plant mom, although I’m finding it challenging being a newbie. My mother is a Spanish immigrant and therefore I naturally love to travel!
Who am I looking for/not looking for?
At this time I am not a good fit for a supervisees who wants to see couples, families, or children/teens. I am a good fit for someone who wants to see individual adults.
